Why?
We live on one of the little Gulf Islands, near Sidney, BC Canada. We are lucky to live in one of the cleanest areas of the world, but every day there is plastic that floats up on the beach. Things need to change all over the world, so what we can do now is start making changes here.
We need to alter the way we think about plastic and being conscious of our decisions regarding plastic use is not easy. My hope is that by sharing on this website, it will make it easier for others to join in. There won't be ads popping up to annoy and frustrate you and I'll post DIY recipes in a format that you can save or print easily.
We have a community where volunteers are the backbone of life, so we will be the guinea pigs for recipes so you can be assured if they work or not. :) Our focus will be the area we live, but you can take the tips and expand to your area.
Talk to your neighbours, friends and when you are in line at the grocery store and tell them why they need to shop nude! :) We all need to. If we are going to effect change we have to reduce our use of plastic in our daily lives, while not replacing with further paper products. The "save a tree" concept got us into this plastic dependency we are now in. We have to become creative with reducing and re-purposing what we already have.
